Shuttle from Boryspol airport
There is a GIJC-representative in the airport’s Terminal F and B on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 am till midnight. Look for the sign GIJC-2011 at Arrivals area. She/he will guide you to the shuttle with GIJC-2011 sign. This is a bus running every second hour during both Tuesday and Wednesday from 10.00 o’clock in the morning till midnight.
The shuttle will start at Terminal F at 10.00 (12.00, 14.00 and so on) and departure from Terminal B is 10 minutes later. From 12 to 18 pm on Wednesday the shuttle runs every hour, again with 10 minutes difference between the terminals. The GIJC shuttle will take you to hotels President, Rus, Dnipro and Khreschatyk and is free.
If you don’t want to wait for the shuttle, let GIJC staff at the airport help you to get a cab – but taxi is at your own costs. Please beware that average price for a cab from Boryspol to downtown is about 200-250 UAH.
On Sunday the shuttle to the airport will start at 09.00 and run every hour till 20.00.
Some speakers arrive later and/or leave earlier. The secretariat will take care of transport.
Conference hotel
The venue of the conference is Hotel President, Hospitalna str.12. It’s located in downtown Kyiv and it’s only a few minutes walk from Metro Palac Sportu. Ticket (jetons) for the metro/subway cost 2 UAH (pronounced “gryvna”) and you can buy them at the entrance of all stations. Metro is the fastest way of getting around in the Ukrainian capital.
Registration
You can register for the conference on Wednesday from 18.00 to 20.00 in the lobby of hotel President and on Thursday morning from 7.30 in the lobby at the Congress Hall, where the conference will open at 9.30. Coffee and tea is served in the lobby.
The secretariat will have a small desk outside the Conference Hall during the conference. The cell phone of the staff on duty is +380 93 545 3346
Conference kit
When you register you will get a small bag with the programme, a map of Kyiv and other information.
Conference badge
You will get two badges, when you register. For security reasons you have to carry your badge in a visible way at all times during the conference. The staff has strict orders not to let you into the conference halls, if you don’t have it.
With the other badge you can lend a headphone to follow translations English/Russian.
Exchange of money
You can exchange money at every corner – including the lobby of President – in Kyiv and the exchange rate is almost the same all over. You will also find ATM’s all over.
When you exchange cash you have to show your passport, and due to new rules it will also be copied by the bank/exchange office. The measure is said to prevent money laundering.
Medical assistance
Turn to the reception in the hotel where you stay or – in daytime – to the secretariat.
